In chapter 8 the weather is a lot cooler and crisp, this might signify how everything is sort of falling apart slowly, in a calm sort of way. Daisy was Gatsbys whole world and he lost her to Tom. I think the weather cools because Daisy is going to stay with Tom, not Gatsby. We know this because the servant wants to drain Gatsby's pool so leaves don't clog the drains. In chapter 8 the weather starts to cool and autumn begins to come. As we find out Gatsby dies and that would be a big part of the story.(climax) I think that it referes to the plot and how its coming to the climax, the best part. If he was doing something good, Fitzgerald would probably have made the weather sunny and nice. Since he is visiting his mistress, the weather reflects his wrong doing by being cloudy and gloomy. It is cloudy kind of and I think it reflects what Tom is doing. I think that in chapter 2 the weather plays a role.
